Bus Matters

Anglian Coaches Bus in Wenhaston on its way to SouthwoldSome of our local bus services are commercially operated and run on major routes such as Lowestoft - Southwold or Ipswich -Aldeburgh.

Others are sponsored by Suffolk County Council, such as Halesworth - Southwold and Ipswich - Bawdesy. Late evening and Sunday bus services are also often sponsored. That means that sometimes the operator of the commercial weekday service will not be the same as that of the Sunday or late evening sponsored service.

On a commercial route we in ESTA can suggest to the operator how more business can be generated. On sponsored routes, we can put a case to the County Council for extra or re-timed buses. We also also suggest that particular villages deserve a better service.
