ESTA has published the results of its August survey of bus and train journeys made by members; and sent these to the operators, decision-makers and news media.
Our members reported that 74% of the buses they used were on time or even slightly early; but of those which did arrive late, the average of 11 minutes lateness was slightly worse than in our 2008 survey.
91% of the trains used were on time; and of the 9% that were unpunctual, the lateness had fallen to 12 minutes compared to 15 minutes in our 2008 survey.
There was an increase in combined bus and train journeys with 20% involving a change from bus to train or vice versa.
A fuller report of the survey results will appear in our next Members' Bulletin
