![]() The beach at Aldeburgh Photo by SuffolkCoast and Heaths Unit The ancient borough of Aldeburgh, with its 16th century Moot Hall close to the beach and its fishermen's huts, was immortalised by the poet Crabbe, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson, Britain's first woman doctor, was Mayor here. The composer Benjamin Britten lived here and, with others, founded the Aldeburgh Festival in 1948. |
