Woodbridge station is ideally placed for exploring the riverside, with the unique Tide Mill close by. It is open weekends in April and October, daily May to September (Tel 01473-626618).

The picturesque old town also has two museums and a windmill open to the public. The station buildings have been refurbished and contain a tourist information centre, taxi office and cafe. To the right is the Riverside Restaurant and Theatre (Tel 01394-382587). To the left is the modern Deben Swimming Pool (Tel 01394-384763) with sauna, gym and fitness suite, and all-weather floodlit tennis courts.

Buses leave mainly from the Turban Centre, just off the Thoroughfare shopping street and include the service to Framlingham with its historic castle.
